Message from 2020/21 SNQ Captain Jack Hendy

Dear NQ swimming community

Amidst all that is happening in our community at this time, it is important to remain positive aswell as determined.

It is very sad news to all, with the cancellation of various club, regional, national and international competitions we all trained very hard to both qualify and compete in with high spirits.

It is important to remember the positives that can be achieved in a period of time like this whether it will be days, weeks or months, here are a few things you can do to be ahead of your game when pools are reopened.

. Develop a Dry-land training workout with your coaches for you to do at home.

. Reassess your goals from this year and how they will be improved for next year.

. Maintain a positive mindset, keep engaged with the sport e.g study past races, read books/articles, focus on strengths and weaknesses.

.Keep in contact with team members, check up on them regularly, if safe to do so join them in making land exercise fun and challenging.

I feel as a region we can overcome this and bounce back stronger into the next season, the North is known for being a tough region so let’s show everyone WE MEAN BUSINESS in 2021!

Yours in swimming, spirit and success.

Jack Hendy
